Therapeutic Massage

Therapeutic Massage techniques are used to treat injuries, reduced movement and pain.

Therapeutic Massage is used to return the body to a state of pain free full movements.

The course of treatment will depend on the injury or chronic condition.

Your therapist will do an assessment of your condition and then start your treatment immediately.

If needed, home stretches and a treatment program can also be included to help the recovery process.

LENSEN™ Advanced Therapeutic Treatment

  • LENSEN™ is an Advanced Therapeutic technique that is a combination of the best modalities found in Manual Osteopathic muscle energy technique and massage therapy.

  • It effectively and painlessly realigns joints, bones and tissue to restore normal, pain free range of motion. It provides the professional massage therapist with the tools required to effectively assess and correct body dysfunction.

  • The treatment can consist of many different techniques (modalities). They will be adapted for your needs and condition.

Deep Tissue Therapy

Deep tissue massage is a type of massage therapy that focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue.

Deep tissue massage works by physically breaking down adhesions to relieve pain and restore normal movement. To do this, the massage therapist often uses direct deep pressure or friction applied across the grain of the muscles.

When there is chronic muscle tension or injury, there are usually adhesions (bands of painful, rigid tissue) in muscles, tendons, and ligaments.

It is especially helpful for chronically tense areas including stiff necks, tight low back and sore shoulders.

Unlike classic massage therapy, which is used for relaxation, deep tissue massage usually focuses on a specific problem, such as:

  • Chronic pain

  • Limited mobility

  • Recovery from injuries (e.g. whiplash, falls, sports injury)

  • Repetitive strain injury, such as carpal tunnel syndrome

  • Postural problems

  • Osteoarthritis pain

  • Fibromyalgia

  • Muscle tension or spasm

Trigger Point Therapy

Trigger Point Techniques can be utilized during Relaxation or Therapeutic Massage treatments to relieve sore muscles.

A trigger point is a hyperirritable area found in muscle tissue that causes referred pain to other areas of the body. Trigger point therapy releases site specific areas, sore muscles, and referred pain.

In addition to other massage techniques, your therapist will deactivate the sore areas using finger or elbow pressure.

Hot Stone Massage (Relaxation)

A relaxation massage that utilizes heated oiled stones instead of the therapist's hands.

This specialized relaxation massage gives clients pure bliss, deep relaxation, enhanced circulation and an overall feeling of warmth.
