LASER BODY HEALING

HOW IT WORKS

Laser therapy is a painless, non-toxic, non-invasive therapy that utilizes light energy to increase the body's healing response to injury and deterioration.

When specific wavelengths of light are applied at the correct frequency and intensity, the light is transformed by the body into biochemical energy that cells need to repair and regenerate themselves.

The result is an increase in the healing rate of up to 60% and an effective option for those suffering from pain, inflammation and degeneration of the body where nothing seems to work.

WHO CAN BENEFIT?

Laser Therapy is an effective solution for musculoskeletal injuries, chronic and degenerative conditions, dermatological problems and the healing of open wounds.

It also safely increases the rate of recovery and helps patients reduce the need for pain medication. LBH has the ability to promote rapid recovery post surgery. The beneficial effects of LBH are cumulative over the course of a series of treatments.

Conditions Treated With Laser Therapy

Meditech International Inc. carries on a significant research program exploring the potential of laser in the treatment of challenging medical conditions where conventional therapies are inadequate. These include:

(i) General
  • repetitive stress injury
  • carpal tunnel syndrome
  • rotator cuff tear
  • epicondylitis
  • fibromyalgia
  • reflex sympathetic dystrophy
  • temporo-mandibular joint dysfunction
  • dupuytren's contracture
(ii) Injuries
  • ligament and tendon tears
  • fractures with associated soft tissue injuries
  • facet joint syndrome
  • bulging and herniated discs
  • contusions
(iii) Inflammatory
  • tendonitis
  • myositis
  • synovitis
  • bursitis
  • plantar fasciitis
  • rheumatoid arthritis
(iv) Degenerative
  • osteoarthritis
  • chondromalacia patella
  • discogenic and vertebrogenic radiculopathy
  • spinal stenosis
  • calcifications (e.g. bone spurs)
(v) Other Applications
  • wound healing
  • dermal ulcers:
    • venous stasis
    • atherosclerotic
    • contact
    • diabetic
    • traumatic
  • burns:
    • thermal
    • chemical

  • lymphedema (acute & chronic)
  • dermatology:
    • herpes zoster (shingles)
    • ezcemas
    • psoriasis
  • gout / arthritis
  • lymphedema
  • neuropathies (diabetic, etc)
Short and Long Term Effects

The treatments have been proven to reduce the need for medication, improve the outcomes for conditions treated and increase the recovery rates of affected tissues. In many instances, surgery can be delayed or even avoided. The following are some of the effects of the treatment:

  • Increases endorphin production which allows for reduction in pain medication
  • Elevates adenosine triphosphate production which increases energy for the cells
  • Modulates white blood cells which improves immune response
  • Stimulates DNA production and cell division which increases the rate of healing
  • Promotes collagen synthesis which enhances muscle, tendon and ligament strength
  • Improves lymphatic drainage which causes a reduction in swelling
  • Promotes angiogenesis and the creation of new blood vessels which improves circulation
  • Reduces inflammation and swelling leading to faster recovery time
  • Reduces the formation of fibrous tissue and scar tissue which promotes healthy tissue recovery
HOW LONG DOES A TREATMENT TAKE?

Treatments are typically thirty minutes to one hour in duration depending on the condition being treated.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS ARE REQUIRED?

The number of treatments will depend on the chronicity and the extent of the pathology involved. Based on the genetic makeup of the cells, an individual's response to LBH will vary to some degree. A recent clinical review reveals the average number of treatments to be 9.4 per patient.

ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS?

Unlike most pharmaceutical solutions and other therapeutic options, laser therapy is non-toxic, non-invasive and in over one million individual treatments, no significant adverse effects have been noted.
